Do you have a wireless network that doesn’t seem to be working or you are having trouble connecting to? Here are 8 fixes to help you get the job done.

Wireless connections and access points have come a long way since the days of dialup Internet. These days they’re everywhere, but not all of them are the same.

The majority of today’s gadgets connect to the internet through WiFi. Wireless adaptors and access points have also significantly improved in terms of speed, range, and bandwidth over the years.

However, as wonderful as these gadgets have gotten, they still have problems and malfunctions from time to time. We’ll go through a few solutions you may attempt if your wireless adapter or access point isn’t functioning properly in this post.

Restarting the device is the easiest and perhaps best method to resolve any connection issues. If your PC’s WiFi card isn’t working, try rebooting it. If your WiFi router isn’t functioning properly, try rebooting it as well. If you power cycle all of your network equipment, there’s a high chance the issue will go away.

Although used rarely, antiviruses, antimalware, and other security applications may block your machine’s internet connection in order to protect it from malware.

Disable any such applications on your machine and reconnect to your network to see if it fixes the problem.

Check to see whether the adapter is activated in the first place if you can’t receive WiFi at all on your smartphone. If your PC has airplane mode turned on, turn it off and try again. If it doesn’t work, make sure your wireless adapter is turned off.

Step 1: Press Windows + R, then type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

You may go one step further and use these instructions back to back to reset Windows files so that you can access the internet.

reset winsock netsh int ip reset netsh

Use these instructions to release your old IP and request a new one if you detect a problem with your router’s DHCP assignment.

/release ipconfig /renew ipconfig

If that doesn’t work, run the instructions given below in the order they’re listed to reset your network stack.

nbtstat -R nbtstat -RR ipconfig/flushdns int ip reset netsh netsh winsock reset C:resetlog.txt

If you’ve confirmed that your ISP and Wi-Fi network are working properly, the Windows troubleshooter may frequently resolve your problem.

Right-click the network icon in the taskbar, choose Troubleshoot issues, and then wait for the troubleshooter to finish.

Unless your Wi-Fi card is very old, in which case you should update it anyhow, this won’t assist you much. However, it isn’t a bad idea to give it a go.

Different routers will have different instructions on how to do this, and you may not even be able to change the wireless mode depending on your router.

The wifi mode is usually set to 802.11 b/g/n, but you may change it to a single channel. To find out which channel works best for you, try all three.

Resetting your router is pretty much the final option you have if nothing else has worked. Keep in mind, however, that if your ISP has made any unique settings on your router, you will lose them and will have to start again.

While you may use your router’s settings page to reset it, we suggest utilizing the physical reset switch. Then, according to your router’s instructions, seek them up and follow them.
