More players reported for duty with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday, including defensive lineman J.J. Watt and quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the No. 1 overall selection in 2021, who arrived for his first media session of camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, has said that he wants a new jersey number, but only if he deserves it. The New York Jets were without the face that everyone wants to see while the club attempts to reach an agreement with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson, but second-year left lineman Mekhi Becton came to camp at his goal weight and looking ready to play. The Washington Football Team also gave Logan Thomas, a journeyman tight end, a new deal after he had 72 receptions previous season.

The most important NFL news of the day
Lamar Jackson wants a ring and then a new number on his jersey. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback said that he had a personal motive for changing his jersey number, but he must first accomplish something. “I’m going to No. 1 if we win the Super Bowl,” he stated. “I’d want to be No. 1. That was my very first phone number. ‘Get No. 1 since it’s the finest,’ my father said. ‘You’re the greatest,’ says the narrator. And it has stayed with me ever since.”
The Jets will begin training camp without No. 2 overall selection Zach Wilson. Because Wilson, the expected starting quarterback, was selected second overall in 2021, there is a more feeling of urgency to settle the contract issue than normal. Only James Morgan and Mike White, both of whom have no regular-season experience, are on the Jets’ roster at the position.

Today’s sightings by NFL Nation’s reporters
Eddie Goldman, the team’s nose tackle, is scheduled to return to practice on Wednesday after missing the whole offseason program — including mandatory minicamp — for unknown reasons. For COVID 19-related concerns, Goldman has also opted out of the 2020 season. His return to the Bears’ defensive line would be a huge help for first-year coordinator Sean Desai, who inherits a unit that finished just outside the top 10 in total yards allowed last season. Dickerson, Jeff
Quarterback Sam Darnold, who claimed he hadn’t been vaccinated for COVID-19 in early June, wouldn’t say if anything had changed when players arrived to camp at Wofford College on Tuesday. Christian McCaffrey, a running back, adopted a similar position, claiming it was a personal matter. However, none of them were wearing masks since they conducted group interviews without the necessary social distance for non-vaccinated participants. That’s a positive sign they’re among the team’s at least 85 percent who have been vaccinated, according to a league source. David Newton is an author.
For the first time since January 2020, Raiders coach Jon Gruden addressed the media in a face-to-face press conference, stating that every player has reported to camp and met their individual playing weights. He also said that his whole staff had been vaccinated, as well as every player, “with the exception of maybe four or five people, so we’re pleased of that.” Gutierrez, Paul
