Manchester United 0 – Manchester City 1. Guardiola’s time at the helm was short-lived as he left for Bayern Munich in 2013 to take over as manager there, but his legacy began with a win against Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United yesterday afternoon.

The “Liverpool fc” is a football club that plays in the English Premier League. The team has won 18 league titles and seven European Cups.

Liverpool embarrassed Manchester United and their under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in front of a horrified Old Trafford crowd by beating them.

Liverpool emphasized the wide disparity between the teams in ruthless manner on a day of severe disgrace for United and Solskjaer, ten years and one day after they lost 6-1 at home to Manchester City.

Mohamed Salah, as expected, was their biggest source of misery, scoring a hat-trick, the first of which marked his 10th consecutive game with a goal.

After an uninspired and disorganized performance, Solskjaer and his team made a sad figure as they faced the full anger of their own supporters, particularly at halftime.

Liverpool ripped United open just five minutes as Salah put Naby Keita through to score at the Stretford End, giving United cause for concern.

Diogo Jota then sneaked in unmarked at the back post eight minutes later to score a second from Trent Alexander-ball. Arnold’s

Liverpool were ripping United apart, and Salah scored his first goal when he hammered the ball into the top of the net from Keita’s cross, then beat David de Gea with a low attempt to give Jurgen Klopp’s side a four-goal half-time advantage.

Many Manchester United supporters fled before the halftime break, prompting Solskjaer to substitute Paul Pogba for Mason Greenwood, but on a day when nothing went right for United, even that mostly cosmetic substitution backfired horrifically.

Five minutes after the interval, Salah raced on to Jordan Henderson’s excellent ball to complete his triple, but Pogba was sent off for a dangerous lunge at Keita, who was carried out on a stretcher.

The rest was routine as Liverpool strolled to win in front of tens of thousands of empty red seats left by home fans.

Liverpool has regained its ruthlessness.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Liverpool boss Jurgen KloppWith 107 goals, Mohamed Salah has become the most prolific African goal scorer in Premier League history.

Liverpool was always going to bounce back from last season’s misery, when injuries and the club’s worst run of home play in its history forced them into a struggle for a spot in the Champions League.

They came back to finish third and continued that form into the new season, with Klopp’s side possessing an unsettling calmness from the start.

They are a merciless machine, and how United felt that power, with Virgil van Dijk back in defense and Salah playing at a level that implies he is the world’s finest player.

Before Keita scored, Bruno Fernandes had a great opportunity to put United up, but after Liverpool took the lead, Solskjaer’s team had no response.

They sliced through United at will with Salah as their primary weapon, causing anxious tension in both their players and the audience every time they pushed forward.

Salah is in fantastic form, and United’s defense was an open invitation to him and Liverpool’s offensive alternatives.

Liverpool has scored 13 goals in three games on the road in the previous eight days, including a 5-0 triumph at Watford and a 3-2 Champions League victory against Atletico Madrid.

Liverpool looked just as fearsome, confident, and threatening as they were when they won the Premier League in 2019-20. This was a truly thoroughbred effort in what is shaping up to be a three-horse contest for the crown with Chelsea and Manchester City.

The only negative aspect of their day was the injury to Keita, who was hurt in a two-footed tackle by Pogba, which was a harsh blow to the midfielder, who had been in his finest form of his stop-start Liverpool career.

What does the future hold for Solskjaer?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks on as Manchester United lose to LiverpoolFor the first time since a 5-0 loss at home to Manchester City in 1955 under Matt Busby, Manchester United has lost by a margin of five or more goals at Old Trafford without scoring.

After United fought back from two goals down to win Atalanta in the Champions League, Solskjaer sounded defiant, but there is a weakness and uncertainty about this club that ensures they will always fall short – and this ultimately puts more pressure on the manager.

There are certain losses that sting more than others, and the sight of United chasing shadows five goals behind as Solskjaer stood helplessly on the touchline for lengthy periods of time insulted by jubilant Liverpool supporters was one of those days.

For United supporters, every loss against Liverpool is excruciating. When a team suffers such a lopsided loss in front of their own fans, it is a day that will sting in every corner of Old Trafford.

It was a defensive disaster, with Liverpool mercilessly exposing weak communication and a lack of comprehension of the team’s goals. As a consequence, the game was basically over in less than 13 minutes.

Although Solskjaer has commended United’s supporters and the Stretford End for sticking with him and the club, there is no denying that there were loud jeers at halftime and significant portions of the stadium had abandoned by the time the final whistle blew.

United’s performance was also marked by a lack of discipline, with Cristiano Ronaldo escaping a red card for kicking out at Curtis Jones while he was on the ground, and Pogba – presumably put in to restore some sort of order – receiving one for his attack on Keita.

United have remained unwavering in their support for Solskjaer, but the shock of the outcome will have everyone from the club’s leadership to its supporters questioning his position more than ever.
