Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman was released from jail on Wednesday after being held for nearly a month without bail.

The ashley sherman is a judge who ordered Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman to be released from jail without bail with several conditions.

Following his arrest on suspicion of attempting to break into his in-laws’ house northeast of Seattle, a judge granted free-agent cornerback Richard Sherman’s release from prison without bond on Thursday.

Sherman committed four offenses, according to King County District Court Judge Fa’amomoi Masaniai: misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass in the second degree and malicious mischief in the third degree, both of which carry domestic violence designations, as well as misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and driving under the influence.

Prosecutors did not seek a ruling from the court on a felony home burglary charge for which he was originally arrested. According to a spokesman for the King County prosecuting attorney’s office, they have not yet filed charges, but a charging decision is anticipated as soon as Friday.

Masaniai refused to impose $10,000 bail as sought by the prosecution. The court referred to the 33-year-old Sherman, who was not present at the hearing, as a “pillar of the community” and said that since this was his first arrest, he was expected to be freed. Sherman was not allowed to see his father-in-law, he was not allowed to drink or use nonprescription medications, and he was not allowed to carry a firearm.

Sherman’s next court appearance is scheduled on Friday at 2 p.m. PT. He is not required to attend the court and may be represented by his lawyer.

Sherman’s wife, Ashley Sherman, stated after the hearing, “I love and support my husband.” “I am dedicated to assisting Richard in receiving the assistance and care that he need. Richard has always been a devoted husband and parent. We’re looking forward to seeing him with his family at home.”

Cooper Offenbecher, Sherman’s attorney, did not dispute the existence of probable cause for the arrest during Thursday’s hearing. Sherman, he argued, should be freed without bond because of his community service, which includes establishing the Blanket Coverage Foundation, which gives school supplies and clothing to low-income children.

“‘Richard Sherman is one of our community’s finest,” stated Offenbecher. “He is a nice man with a good heart. “He is very concerned about these accusations.”

According to police records, Sherman was hostile, had been drinking excessively, and had threatened to kill himself when he left his house in the Seattle neighborhood of Maple Valley late Tuesday. Ashley Sherman called 911 in an attempt to get cops to intervene.

He was detained early Wednesday after police said he wrecked his vehicle in a construction zone on a major highway east of Seattle, then attempted to break into his in-laws’ house in the Redmond neighborhood.

As Sherman attempted to break in the door with his shoulder, his father-in-law, Raymond Moss, told police that he armed himself with a pistol and sprayed pepper-spray at the NFL cornerback to defend his family.

“‘The family started screaming in terror,” Moss told cops. “As Sherman continued to pound and try to get inside, I sprayed pepper spray on his face through the partly opened door. I urged him to come to a halt. Fearing for mine and my family’s safety, I armed myself with my pistol at the moment.”

According to police records published Thursday, officers were hesitant to arrest Sherman because of his height, strength, and belligerence. They chose to use less deadly force after attempting to deescalate the situation and warned Sherman that they would if he did not cooperate with their instructions.

They couldn’t use a Taser because they didn’t want to ignite whatever poison Sherman’s father-in-law had sprayed him with, and they couldn’t fire a bean-bag round because they were too near. Instead, they let a police dog loose on him, which bit his ankle and inflicted a small cut, according to the accounts, as other cops fought with him on the ground.

Sherman was granted a “extreme risk protection order” in February by King County prosecutors and the sheriff, which prohibited him from possessing firearms after a court decided he presented a threat to himself or others. The matter was kept under wraps, and it was unclear if any firearms had been confiscated from him.

Ashley Sherman informed authorities that her husband was taking antidepressants and seeing a therapist for mental health issues.
