Although Burks is a good athlete, Brown has established himself as one of the top receivers in the NFL. During the first three seasons of his career, he has caught 185 receptions for 2,995 yards and 24 touchdowns. Tennessee is instantly weakened by his absence, which benefits the team’s AFC South foe, the Indianapolis Colts.

Each of the previous two years, the Titans have won their division, but the Colts have been close behind them. In 2020, both teams ended 11-5, but Tennessee won the championship on a tiebreaker. In 2021, Indianapolis finished second again, this time behind the Titans.
The Colts, on the other hand, have improved this summer. They received 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan in exchange for quarterback Carson Wentz. Indy also signed Yannick Ngakoue and Stephon Gilmore, the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, to an already powerful defense.
With those signings and the Titans’ loss of Brown, Indianapolis is in a great position to win the AFC South. Brown was a matchup nightmare for the Colts, not just because he helped Tennessee win a lot of games during his time there. Brown has four receptions for 98 yards and a score during a 2020 matchup in Indianapolis. During the 2021 game at Indianapolis, he recorded 10 receptions for 155 yards and one score.
Brown was a game-changer in two critical victories in the previous two years. The Colts will have an easier time beating the Titans without having to gameplan for him.
Is Indianapolis now the clear favorite to win the AFC South? No, not at all. That will be determined by the remainder of the draft. However, Indy’s odds are far greater today than they were a few days ago.
The Colts may not have had a selection on the opening night of the draft, but they definitely came out on top.
