Fantasy basketball is an American fantasy sports game that has been around since the early 1980s. This season, Chris Paul was traded to help rebuild L.A.’s franchise and LeBron James returns home with his second consecutive NBA Championship ring on his finger as he takes over for Stephen Curry in what should be a see-saw battle between two of the best point guards in league history.

The “yahoo fantasy basketball” is a website that allows users to play fantasy basketball. It has been around for a while and has a large following.

Who is on the rise? Which rotations are going to change? What’s new in the NBA in terms of noteworthy injuries?

For all 30 clubs, here’s a look at the most fantasy-relevant news and observations from across the league:

Bogdan Bogdanovic’s usage rate (USG) is 17.1 percent this season, the lowest since his rookie season (19.5 percent ). Bogdanovic averages 12.4 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game in 29.7 minutes per game. He’s a strong supplier of points and threes in just 67.4 percent of ESPN leagues. It’ll be interesting to see if the Hawks start to employ Bogdanovic more offensively after he recovers from his ankle ailment (day-to-day).

Boston Celtics: Due to a hamstring injury, Jaylen Brown will be out for the next two weeks, providing fantasy managers with a rare chance. Josh Richardson is on the rosters of just 1.4 percent of ESPN leagues. Richardson scored 15 points, grabbed three rebounds, dished out an assist, swiped three steals, and blocked a shot in 33 minutes off the bench against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Richardson is a viable streamer as long as Brown is sidelined.

LaMarcus Aldridge of the Brooklyn Nets is a top-100 player in just 17.5 percent of ESPN leagues. He scored 21 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3FG) and added eight rebounds and a block in 22 minutes against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. It’s unclear if the 36-year-old can keep up his output, since he’s averaging 12.3 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, and 1.2 blocks per game while playing just 20.0 minutes per game. He should, however, be rostered in all leagues.

Kelly Oubre Jr.’s incredible performance against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday could lead to more opportunities for him in the future. He scored 37 points (second highest in a game in his career) in 31 minutes, with seven 3-pointers (tied for most in a game in his career), five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Oubre is in 32.2 percent of ESPN leagues and is worth considering.

Chicago Bulls: I highlighted Alex Caruso last week, and I’ll mention him again this week since he continues to shine off the bench. Caruso scored 16 points on 6 of 7 shooting and three 3-pointers against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, to go along with two rebounds, an assist, and a season-high six steals. If you need steals and threes, consider Caruso, who is only rostered in 27% of ESPN leagues.

1617241816_86_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Cleveland Cavaliers: Evan Mobley is currently ranked in the top 60 in category leagues. The valued rookie big man has scored in double figures in each of his previous five games, grabbed nine or more rebounds in three of them, and blocked a shot in each of them. He scored 19 points, grabbed seven boards, dished out two assists, blocked a shot, and hit a three-pointer in 26 minutes against Washington. Mobley is still available in 17.5 percent of ESPN leagues, indicating that he is nowhere near his potential.

1617241817_905_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks has a USG of 36% and averages 28.5 points per 40 minutes (P/40), 9.3 rebounds per 40 minutes (R/40), and 8.1 assists per 40 minutes (A/40) this season. Doncic has had a sluggish start to the season by his standards. Further investigation reveals that Doncic has 36 triple-doubles in his career, but none this season. You may go after Doncic in trades, but he won’t come cheap. Since the start of the 2018-2019 season, he’s had 101 games with 25 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, two more than any other NBA player.

1617241818_690_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Denver Nuggets: The absence of Nikola Jokic and Michael Porter Jr. enabled us to get a better look at some of the other Nuggets players. Nah’shon “Bones” Hyland is a name to remember. He got 12 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes previous night. If Hyland maintains his current form while Porter is away, he might see an increase in offensive responsibilities. Only 0.7 percent of ESPN leagues have him on their roster.

1617241819_637_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Detroit Pistons: I suggested last week that Cade Cunningham had brighter days ahead of him, and he had a career performance against the Rockets on Wednesday night. Cunningham recorded a career-high 20 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, a block, and a 3-pointer against the No. 2 selection in 2021, Jalen Green (who also scored 20 points). In the common draft period, the top two choices from the same draft have scored 20 points in their first meeting (including playoffs) five times (since 1966). This hasn’t occurred since Tim Duncan vs. Keith Van Horn in 1998.

1617241820_289_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Andrew Wiggins scored 35 points, four rebounds, two steals, three three-pointers, and two monster dunks on Karl-Anthony Towns in a vengeance game against his previous club, the Minnesota Timberwolves, on Wednesday night. Could this be the impetus he needs to increase his per-game statistics for the remainder of the season? It’s conceivable. Only Stephen Curry (33.6 minutes per game), Draymond Green (29.5 minutes per game), and Jordan Poole have more minutes per game than Wiggins (29.4). (29.5).

1617241821_661_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Houston Rockets: Christian Wood put up a strong showing against the Pistons on Wednesday night. He got nine rebounds, three assists, and three 3-pointers in addition to his 20 points. Wood leads the Rockets in MPG (33.7), PPG (17.7), and RPG with a USG of 21.6 percent (11.5). Unfortunately, his free throw percentage (52.9%) is poor, lowering his fantasy worth, particularly in roto and category leagues.

1617241822_853_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Indiana Pacers: Some fantasy managers are worried about Malcolm Brogdon’s availability, but when he is, he demonstrates why he is still a desirable fantasy option. In seven games this season, the dependable point guard has averaged 22.7 points per game, 6.7 assists per game, 6.6 rebounds per game, 1.0 blocks per game, and 0.9 steals per game. In category leagues, this correlates to top-15 statistical production.

1617241823_64_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Reggie Jackson recorded 23 points, two rebounds, six assists, and a steal against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. So far this season, he’s scored 10 points or more in all but one of the Clippers’ games. The veteran guard is currently ranked in the top 50 in category leagues, but just 63.4 percent of ESPN leagues have him on their team.

1617241824_394_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Russell Westbrook of the Los Angeles Lakers continues to damage your fantasy squad when it comes to turnovers. He has the most turnovers in the NBA this season, at 64. Despite this, Westbrook’s versatility in terms of counting stats makes him a tempting fantasy option. Westbrook, for example, posted his second straight triple-double on Wednesday. He’s averaging 19.3 points per game, 9.1 rebounds per game, and 8.9 assists per game in his debut season with the Lakers.

1617241825_975_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Memphis Grizzlies: In his season debut against the Charlotte Hornets, Dillon Brooks recorded 20 points, six assists, four rebounds, two steals, and four 3-pointers. He’s a reliable supplier of points, threes, and steals, but he’s only in 20.5 percent of ESPN leagues right now, and if last season is any indicator, he’ll be a popular streaming option all season.

1617241826_103_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Bam Adebayo had 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and six steals against the Lakers on Wednesday night. Adebayo stepped up for the Heat when Jimmy Butler was ruled out due to an ankle ailment. As a consequence, Adebayo joined LeBron James (twice), Eddie Jones, and Glen Rice as the fourth player in Heat history to record 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals in a game. Adebayo accumulating more blocks would be beneficial from a fantasy standpoint. His 0.4 blocks per game are the lowest in his career.

1617241827_321_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, Jrue Holiday, He had 18 points, two rebounds, six assists, a steal, and four 3-pointers against the Knicks on Wednesday night. He played 20 minutes in his first game back after a non-COVID sickness and an ankle injury, and he has subsequently played 30 minutes or more in each of the previous three games.

1617241828_580_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Minnesota Timberwolves: Anthony Edwards’ incredible accomplishments have catapulted him into the debate with other fantasy greats. Against the Warriors on Wednesday, he had 48 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals, and seven three-pointers. It was his third game with 40 points or more in his career. Only LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Kevin Durant have had more 40-point games before turning 21.

1617241829_523_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

New Orleans Pelicans: Even though he’s playing on an injury-plagued Pelicans squad that’s off to a 1-11 start, Jonas Valanciunas is now a top-15 player. Valanciunas is someone you should consider selling high on, based on his 23.5 P/40, 16.5 P/40, and 3.1 A/40 averages and a USg of 23.7 percent. His trade value won’t go much higher than it is right now, particularly with Zion Williamson anticipated to return in the next month or two.

1634855897_229_Fantasy-basketball-30

Derrick Rose of the New York Knicks has scored 17 points or more in three of his last four games, averaging 13.3 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game, and 1.2 steals per game this season. Rose is only rostered in 52.9 percent of ESPN leagues, despite delivering borderline top-100 value, while other Knicks, like Kemba Walker, get more attention.

1617241830_487_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Oklahoma City Thunder: On Wednesday night, Josh Giddey almost had a triple-double against the Pelicans, scoring seven points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and handing out nine assists. Despite the fact that he was mentioned in last week’s column, he is only rostered in 49.2% of ESPN leagues. Now is the time to get Giddey!

1617241831_907_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Franz Wagner has scored in double figures and had at least one steal in all but one of his 12 games with the Orlando Magic. And his strong start to the season continued against Brooklyn on Wednesday, when he scored 10 points, seven rebounds, an assist, and six steals. He is barely rostered in 26.1 percent of ESPN leagues, but generating top-100 value in category formats. Wagner is expected to be a significant component of this offense until Jonathan Isaac recovers from his ACL injury, and potentially even beyond that. Only Scottie Barnes, Evan Mobley, Chris Duarte, and Jalen Green have played more games per game than him thus far.

1617241832_33_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Philadelphia 76ers: While just 55.7 percent of ESPN leagues have Andre Drummond, the experienced big man is proven to be a force with Joel Embiid out due to COVID-19 protocol. Drummond’s USG is just 19.4, but he averages 14.6 P/40, 21.2 R/40, and 4.5 A/40, plus he recorded 25 rebounds and two blocks in back-to-back games this week against the Knicks and Bucks, respectively.

1617241833_786_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Frank Kaminsky of the Phoenix Suns has scored at least 10 points in four of his past five games, including a monster performance against the Blazers on Wednesday night. He recorded a career-high 31 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a block in 32 minutes off the bench. Since Jamal Crawford’s 51-point effort on April 9th, 2019, Kaminsky is the only Suns player to score 30 or more points off the bench. Kaminsky is a hot hand to ride at times, and right now is one of those times owing to his ability to score and rebound in only 3.5 percent of ESPN leagues.

1617241834_782_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Portland Trail Blazers: Jusuf Nurkic leads the NBA with 11.5 rebounds per game, but his other stats haven’t been outstanding in 2021-22. In 24.5 MPG, he had just 11.2 PPG, 2.0 APG, 1.5 SPG, and 0.6 BPG. It’ll be fascinating to watch whether Blazers coach Chauncey Billups increases his minutes as the season develops, since he’s restricted in what he can accomplish with the time on the court he’s receiving right now.

1617241835_418_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

De’Aaron Fox has scored at least 21 points in three of his past four games for the Sacramento Kings. Fox put the finishing touches on his season against the Spurs on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 37 points to go along with two rebounds, six assists, one steal, and three blocks. After a poor start to the season in terms of shooting, this might be the game that gets the quick and powerful point guard back on track.

1617241836_605_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Keldon Johnson has been a consistent supplier of points, rebounds, and steals for the San Antonio Spurs this season, improving on his breakthrough season last year. Despite averaging 15.5 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists per game, and 1.4 steals per game, the third-year player is still only rostered in 64.2 percent of ESPN leagues.

1617241837_635_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Scottie Barnes (rostered in 82.1 percent of ESPN leagues) leads all rookies in scoring and rebounding with 17.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. With 34.5 MPG, he also tops all first-year players, which is a good sight. He’s also scored at least 21 points in four games this season.

1617241838_806_Fantasy-basketball-30-Whos-hot-whos-cold-and-whos

Rudy Gay’s surgically healed heel will be reevaluated on November 15 by the Utah Jazz. Hopefully, the veteran forward will make his season debut with the Jazz soon. Gay, who averaged 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game with the Spurs last season, is a guy to consider in a deep league.

1634855900_382_Fantasy-basketball-30

Montrezl Harrell is having a fantastic season with the Washington Wizards. He’s averaging 29.6 MPG this season, up from 22.9 previous season with the Lakers, and has a USG of 20.3 percent. The burly big man, who is renowned for his scoring efficiency and rebounding prowess, is also on track to break two key statistical records. For one thing, despite a lifetime average of 65.9%, he’s shooting 84.1 percent from the free throw line. Second, his PER of 27.7 is much higher than his previous high of 24.7 established with the Clippers in 2017-18.
