The 2021 Cruisin’ Weekend Street Closures and Rules of the Road is a unique opportunity for residents, business owners, drivers, and visitors to learn about how the City will be implementing traffic changes in preparation for the event.

The local car shows is a weekend event that takes place in the city of Chicago. It is an event where people show off their cars and has been happening for over twenty years.

CRUISE NIGHT ON THE EL CAMINO: NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURES

The 28th Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite, which is a restricted and regulated cruise on El Camino Real from Traffic Way to Curbaril, starts off Cruisin’ Weekend on Friday, Aug. 20 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the following routes will shut (hard road closure at 6 p.m.):

From Traffic Way to Curbaril, El Camino Real;

From Curbaril to El Camino Real, San Luis Ave.

From Sinaloa to El Camino Real, Pueblo Ave.

Palma Ave., from Entrada Ave. to Traffic Way; Palma Ave., from Entrada Ave. to Traffic Way; Palma Ave.,

From El Camino Real to Lewis Ave., Entrada Ave.

From El Camino Real to Lewis Avenue, there is a traffic lane.

From Palma Avenue to El Camino Real, the East Mall;

From Palma Avenue to El Camino Real, the West Mall;

Between the US 101 southbound ramps (which will remain open) and Santa Ysabel Avenue, Highway 41 will be closed to through traffic and detoured through Curbaril Avenue and Santa Ysabel Avenue. The northbound on- and off-ramps for US 101 at Highway 41/El Camino Real (in front of the Von’s Center) will be blocked, although local traffic may reach the Von’s Center via Santa Ysabel Avenue off Highway 41. Lewis Ave. leads to the Colony Square parking lot. Traffic will be able to travel between the US 101 ramps and the north part of El Camino Real at the junction of El Camino Real and Traffic Way. During the event, the Tesla Charging Station will be closed.

RULES OF THE ROAD FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS ON THE HOT EL CAMINO CRUISE NITE

Drive slowly and carefully, keeping an eye out for pedestrians, spectators, and other cars.

All traffic lights, signs, and control devices must be obeyed.

Follow all police officers’ and event staff’s instructions.

Tires that chirp, spin, or scream on purpose are not allowed. 

Pour no liquid on the street if you want your tires to spin.

Vehicle speed displays, excessive exhaust system noise, and speed competitions are all banned.

Only at the specified locations at either end of the cruise route are U-turns allowed.

All laws and requirements of the Vehicle Code shall be followed.

Vehicles may exit the cruise route to “cool down,” but drivers who want to return to the cruise route after the “cool off” time must do so via the registration site.

Violations of the aforementioned regulations may result in the offender being removed from the course, receiving a ticket, having his or her car towed and/or impounded, and being arrested. ONLY YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL ALLOW CRUISE NIGHT TO CONTINUE! PLEASE ASSISTE US IN MAKING SURE THAT THE EVENT CONTINUES TO BE SAFE FOR ALL!

NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURES FOR DANCING IN THE STREETS

The City of Atascadero will present Dancing in the Streets! on Saturday, August 21 from 5–9 p.m. This will include two musicians, as well as a few food vendors, at Sunken Gardens in Downtown Atascadero. The following roads will be closed during this event:

Road restrictions for West Mall between El Camino Real and Lewis Ave., East Mall between El Camino Real and Lewis Ave., and Palma Ave. between East and West Malls from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Palma Avenue will be blocked between the East and West Malls until 10 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22.
